Here are a few
clips and short programs we have produced.
Byrd
of The Woodlands 30-second TV Spot
Backyard
Bar-B-Q - 30-second TV Spot
We shot two
30-second spots in one day for Byrd Automotive, economizing on cast,
crew and equipment rental. We used the same two actors (from Main
Street Theater's company) and a crew of 6. These spots are still
being shown on local cable six years later. If you'd like a
similar pair of 30-second spots, or one 60-second spot, this would
currently run $6-10,000 or more depending on locations, cast, props,
etc.
"The
Trust" - Trailer
This feature
length (114 min.) 35mm film was our magnum opus. Starring Sam
Bottoms, Karen Black, and hundreds of local actors and extras, this
turn-of-the-century murder mystery incorporates trains, horses and
carriages, period crowd scenes, and top production values on a miniscule
budget (by Hollywood standards). It's been aired on 5 continents
(including a showing on the BBC in October of 2001) and had an excellent
6-week run at the Greenway Theater in Houston, but we're still looking
for a major U.S. release. More
info.
What
do I like about Rice? - 60-second TV Spot We
made this back in the 80s when the standard spot shown during halftimes
of college football games included a narrator reciting statistics...
Rice offers degrees in ...., Rice has over x National Merit Scholars,
etc. Rice wanted to get away from the egghead image and show
it as a place to have fun as well as learn. We decided to use only
the voices of real students talking about the place. In recent
years this approach has become the norm. Other programs for Rice:
We've also produced
videos about South Texas College of Law, St. Anne's School, and several
other pillars of modern education.
